Raising standards across the sector

Halley House School received a letter of congratulations from Bridget Phillipson, Secretary of State for Education, recognising our exceptional outcomes for disadvantaged pupils in the 2024/25 academic year.

The letter was sent to the top 25 per cent nationally, based on outcomes for poorer pupils.

In the letter, the Secretary of State praised us for being “among the very best nationally”, highlighting the dedication of our staff and the hard work of pupils. She noted that these achievements demonstrate "what can be achieved when ambition and commitment come together".

Last year, 78% of pupils at Halley achieved the expected standards in Reading, Writing and maths at the end of Year 6, which is a 17% increase on the year before, and 16% above the national average.

This recognition reflects the commitment across our school to ensuring every child, regardless of background, receives the highest quality education and the support they need to Learn, Enjoy, and Succeed. The letter also encouraged us to continue leading the way by sharing best practice, engaging with regional networks, and supporting wider collaboration across the sector.

We are delighted with this recognition and very proud of all our staff and pupils!
